1. Introduction

Welcome to QuitanDo! We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your information. QuitanDo is a habit-tracking app designed to help you quit bad habits and build positive ones. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

QuitanDo is developed and operated by ChaskaForYou and is available on Android and iOS platforms.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

QuitanDo is designed to work completely offline. All your habit tracking data is stored locally on your device in a SQL database. This includes:

  • Your quit and do habits
  • Progress tracking information
  • Streaks and milestones
  • Any notes or customizations you add

Important: This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. We do not have access to this information. If you uninstall the app, this data will be deleted from your device.

Backup and Restore Feature

QuitanDo provides an optional Backup and Restore feature in the app settings that allows you to:

  • Backup Data: Export your habit data as a JSON file that you can save to your device's storage or cloud service of your choice
  • Restore Data: Import a previously saved JSON backup file to restore your habits and progress

Your Control: You have complete control over backup files. You decide where to save them (local storage, Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, etc.) and when to create or restore backups. We do not automatically upload, access, or store your backup files. The backup/restore process happens entirely on your device.

Privacy Note: If you choose to save your backup file to a third-party cloud storage service (such as Google Drive, iCloud, or Dropbox), that service's privacy policy will apply to how your backup file is stored and handled. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any cloud storage services you use.

2.2 Analytics Data (Firebase Analytics)

To improve QuitanDo and understand how users interact with our app, we use Firebase Analytics. This service collects anonymous, aggregated data such as:

  • App usage statistics (e.g., how many users open the app daily)
  • User retention rates
  • General device information (device type, operating system version, language)
  • Crash reports and performance data

Important: Firebase Analytics does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) or target specific individual users. All data is anonymous and aggregated.

2.3 Advertising Data (AdMob)

The free version of QuitanDo displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain information to serve relevant ads, including:

  • Device advertising ID
  • IP address (approximate location)
  • Device information (make, model, operating system)
  • Ad interaction data (clicks, views)

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings:

  • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
  • iOS: Settings > Privacy > Tracking > Disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"

Premium users do not see any advertisements.

2.4 Payment and Subscription Data (RevenueCat)

For users who upgrade to our premium plan, payment processing is handled by Google Play Store or Apple App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:

  • Anonymous user identifier
  • Purchase and subscription status
  • Transaction information

We do not have access to your payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.). All payment data is processed securely by Google or Apple.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • App Functionality: Your habit data stored locally powers the core features of QuitanDo
  • App Improvement: Analytics help us understand usage patterns and improve the app experience
  • Advertising: AdMob uses data to display relevant ads in the free version
  • Subscription Management: RevenueCat helps us manage premium subscriptions and unlock features
  • Support: To respond to user inquiries and provide technical assistance

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. However, we work with the following service providers:

  • Google Firebase Analytics: For app analytics and performance monitoring
  • Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements in the free version
  • RevenueCat: For managing in-app purchases and subscriptions
  • Google Play Store / Apple App Store: For payment processing

5. Data Security

We take data security seriously. Your habit tracking data is stored locally on your device using SQLite database with standard security measures. Since we don't collect or store your habit data on our servers, the risk of data breaches is minimal.

For data that is transmitted (analytics, ads, payments), we rely on industry-standard encryption and security practices implemented by our trusted third-party service providers.

Backup File Security: When you create a backup file, it is stored as a standard JSON file on your device or chosen cloud storage location. We recommend keeping backup files in secure locations and being cautious about sharing them, as they contain your habit tracking information. If you use cloud storage services, ensure they have appropriate security measures and privacy settings enabled.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

6.1 Access and Control

  • Local Data: You have complete control over your habit data. You can delete individual habits or all data by uninstalling the app
  • Data Export: You can export your data anytime using the Backup feature in app settings, which creates a JSON file containing all your habit information
  • Data Portability: The backup JSON file allows you to transfer your data between devices or keep a personal copy for your records
  • Advertising: You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings
  • Premium Subscription: You can manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play Store or Apple App Store

6.2 Data Deletion

To delete your data:

  • Local habit data: Uninstall the app from your device
  • Analytics data: This is already anonymous and cannot be tied back to you
  • Advertising data: Managed by AdMob; you can reset your advertising ID in device settings

7. Children's Privacy

QuitanDo is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will take steps to delete such information.

8. International Users

8.1 European Union (EU) Users - GDPR Compliance

If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to Access: You can request information about the data we process
  • Right to Rectification: You can correct inaccurate data

If you are located in India, your data protection rights are governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). You have the right to:

Since QuitanDo stores your habit data locally on your device and does not collect personally identifiable information through our servers, you maintain complete control over your data. Analytics data collected is anonymous and aggregated, not tied to individual users.

Data Fiduciary: ChaskaForYou acts as the Data Fiduciary for any personal data processed through QuitanDo.

9. No Login Required

QuitanDo does not require user registration or login. This means we do not collect email addresses, usernames, passwords, or any account-related personal information. Your privacy is protected by design.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or app features. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or update the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
